Do you hate your job?

Do you hate your job?

I don't, but I sure wouldn't mind leaving it. Don't get me wrong, I love working with kids, especially middle-schoolers. However, the politics of education and the low pay have changed my mind about my profession.

So what?

So, I'm one of the few people out there that would like to leave their job and is actually doing something about it. So many people have a fear about starting a business. It's human nature to get into a comfort zone and stay there. Some would rather play the lottery and just hope to get rich. I can tell you that Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Donald Trump, and many others did not just hope to get rich, they went out and did something about it.

Am I an outgoing person and this comes easy for me? Most certainly not! I am rather shy and reserved. I too like that status quo because it is comfortable, but I also want more in life. I'm not about to just sit back and watch others get rich, others that are far less qualified intellectually than me. I look around and see some people that are rolling in the dough and say to myself "are you kidding me? They are worth how many millions?" Some of these people couldn't even tell you the differnce between a stock and a CD.

For those of you who want change in your life, set a goal and don't be affraid to go get it!

Countdown to Summer

Tomorrow is the senior awards banquet. So what does that mean? Only one week of school left with the seniors. I really can't wait until summer. We will be traveling to Columbia to visit with the family of our foreign exchange student which is going to be a complete blast. I am also looking forward to having some free time to put into our business. We plan on growing our business exponentially this summer when we will finally be able to get out and meet with people and let them try the product. As soon as they try it and read about it, we know they'll be MonaVie for life, but at this point our schedules haven't gelled so It's been difficult.

On a side note, soon I'd like to start putting some helpful business information into this blog as well as some inspiring stories, but that too will require time; which I will have in just a couple short weeks. Keep checking back for updated information or subscribe to the RSS feed at the bottom of this page!

Goal Setting

You know... you really need to set goals in life to be successful. I tell this to my students all the time. Many of them can't see past high school, they have no plans of college, military, or anything really. Some of them can't see past lunch. It's scary to think what our country is going to be like in a couple of generations. I swear if they don't step it up quite a bit, we could be in for a rough ride.

So why do I bring this up? While enjoying a beautiful Memorial Day weekend up on Lake Buttes De Morttes in Oshkosh, WI we took the boat past quite a few gorgeous houses. I told Cindy that I'd like to be there soon. The thing is... we've finally found something that can indeed help us get to that point. Right now, the average black diamond distributor is making $1.4 million a year on average. I certainly could live with that! I don't expect to see that in a lifetime of teaching. My goal is not to be pulling that kind of cash by the time I'm 30 (although I wouldn't complain if I am). My realistic goal is to be doing $10k a week, which comes out to $520,000 per year. Why don't I go for the gusto? I guess I'm just a realist, I probably won't be doing over a million until I'm 31 :-)

But for now, I leave for bed knowing I have to get up and go to work tomorrow, but not for much longer.

Success Faster than Imagined!

This weekend we were up in Michigan spending time with Cindy's family. We were out at the cabin where there is no cell phone service, no operating phone, no TV, and no distractions. When we drove back into town, I received a message that I had a voice mail. I really had no idea who it could be, because tons of people try to get a hold of me throughout the day, but few leave messages.

The message was from Jamie... calling from church. She had heard from Dan and Lisa that we had been quite successful over the weekend, but didn't elaborate much; just asked for a return call. I called back immediate to and spoke with Shane. Come to find out, we did 6200 point volume over the weekend. My website was a huge tool for this success. It's great to know that we will receive 10% of that in addition to first order bonuses and and star maker. Cindy and I are so excited to be really making some extra money. Hopefully we'll be qualified as gold by the end of the summer!
